Weekly after work, I spend time at the nearest coffee shop. The black-owned coffee shop houses a collection of archives that tells the story of black people. From wall to wall, there are issues from historical magazines, movies, and records. This coffee shop is where I can uncover my creativity because I am inspired by the archives in the shop. From the time you walk in up until the time you leave, there is an encounter of history. The owner has gathered these archives for over a decade and as I look around at the collection, I begin to reimagine the history of my culture, the creativity, the beauty, diversity, and the innovation that streamed from a collection of ideas.
The collection explains your passions, your fears, your values, and your purpose. You are not just a name or a face—you are a collection of living ideas, constantly evolving, learning, and redefining. It is imperative to embrace your thoughts and honor your questions. Celebrate your uniqueness. Because in every idea you hold, there’s a piece of your truth. Through a chain of unity, uniqueness, and truth, collectively we can change the meaning of messages. Through a collection of ideas, we can continue to tell our stories and preserve the legacy of our experiences. Every moment you’ve lived—every joy, every pain, every quiet reflection—has left a mark not only on your heart but on the world around you.
Our experiences are more than memories. Our experiences are lessons, footprints, and echoes, shaping the way we live, love, and lead. So, what is a part of your collection?
