Check For Windows Updates

Updated: Apr 20

Not installing Windows Updates on your windows based computer will hinder some performance and might cause some security issues. Being consistent with installing windows updates on your computer helps to keep it safe from malicious attacks, adds new features, helps fix vulnerabilities, etc. Checking for updates at least once a month is a good practice to have. Microsoft normally releases updates on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month. For some of us techies, we call these days Patch Tuesdays. In a business/enterprise environment that's set up a certain way with servers, network printers, firewall appliances, etc., some updates from Microsoft when released may not be helpful and may cause issues. Normally in those types of environments, the IT Department manages and filters updates to company computers to prevent any issues based on how their company is set up. If a particular windows update causes problems with your computer, normally you can uninstall the update.
